NEWS: new web profile, 'djchrisrohn' LAUNCHcast

Every few months it seems there is another 'profile' type of web service that pops up, this time it's Yahoo who is scrambling to make up for the traffic it's lost in the wake of the popularity of MySpace (recently purchased by FOX) with it's '360' profile service. It's easy to set up since you use your pre-existing Yahoo user name and profile information. LAUNCHcast



Upon creating the 360 profile, it has this option to connect it to your LAUNCHcast station, on which I've been tweaking preferences and settings, and is starting to resemble a shell of my taste in music. LAUNCHcast can be played through a pop-up player with Internet Explorer (Firefox is unfortunately not supported) or can be played directly through the latest version of Yahoo Messenger. The only annoying things about LAUNCHcast are: 1) you must sign into your Yahoo account, and 2) if you don't subscribe to their "Plus" service for $40/year (which I refuse to do) it plays one of three or four commercials every three songs.
